The design experiment investigates the possibility of reconciling industrially produced chipboard with handcrafted solid wood elements. The aesthetic surface of the coarse poplar chipboard is accentuated by adding white pigmented oil. In combination with the constructionally necessary, finely crafted solid wood parts, the »naked« board, which is usually hidden behind veneer or laminate, is enhanced.
