For the chair manufacturer Wittmann in Upper Austria, a children’s collection made purely of solid wood was created in 2018 – 2019. The advantages of the material are emphasised by the design — this furniture is a haptic experience not only for children. The design plays with curves and soft shapes. Without appearing playful, the collection has a playful, creative added value. Colourful noses, trunks and snouts give the chairs their own character and are intended to stimulate creativity. The design’s claim is that the chairs and also the applications form a shapely basis for childlike play and are not toys.
