Corso Chair

Bistro Chair

Design: Robert Stadler

Manufacturer: Drucker

Created in 1885, the Drucker rattan chair has survived the centuries without becoming obsolete. Better, it has become a symbol of Parisian café’s lively terraces throughout the world. Although the chair has many qualities, its rattan legs also have two weaknesses: humidity infiltrates by capillarity and stacking is difficult due to the reinforcing cross. These two observations served as a starting point for the design of the new Corso chair, which combines the traditional know-how of rattan manufacturing with the advantages of an aluminum base.
