Shell chair made of wood and linoleum — Peter Hussl commissioned us to design a family of chairs using a linoleum composite material he had developed. The important thing in this case was not to develop a chair for specific areas of use, but simply to find formal and functional forms that correspond to the material’s own character. As a largely natural material with a soft matt surface and a pleasant warm feel, it is an ideal complement to wood.

The construction of the chair corresponds to the traditional design of alpine seating furniture with a solid glued seat plate and the legs tapped into it. The seat is coated with linoleum, the backrest is a laminated linoleum sandwich panel and encloses the seat. The result is a versatile furniture series. For the home, the public sector, but also for the catering and hotel trade.
